CVS 115 - Vascular Sonography II 2 Credit Hours In this course, students will learn the history, physical, and pharmacology associated with peripheral arterial disease, peripheral venous diseases and pathologies, and the cerebrovascular system. Students will learn about the physical signs and symptoms of the arterial and venous systems and understand how distinguish them from one another, as well as determining which history questions are pertinent to ask patients who are receiving Peripheral or Cerebrovascular Ultrasound Testing. Students will explore cerebrovascular system pathology and how pathology in specific cerebrovascular vessels can lead to various symptoms of stroke; exploration of various arterial and venous pathologies and their affect on arterial and venous blood flow will also be made as it relates to Ultrasound Color and Spectral doppler changes.
Prerequisites: HC 117 , HC 118 , HC 118L , MATH 103 or MATH 114 , CNA certificate or HC 106 , PHYS 100 , CV 123 , CVS 103 , CVS 103L , CVS 113 , CVS 113L , HC 103
