Architectural Engineering Technicians usually work under the immediate supervision of a registered architect, professional engineer, or construction manager. They perform operational tasks of a technical nature following well-designed methods and procedures set down by their supervisors and architectural standards.
Tasks often include producing construction documents with the use of computerized software specific to the profession of architecture. These drawings will come from architectural sketches, computations, written and verbally communicated instructions.
The program includes the understanding of both residential and commercial building construction, design and planning. Mechanical and electrical systems along with statics and strength of materials will prepare the student to work in not only the architectural field but also in the mechanical, electrical and structural engineering fields.
TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS: This degree requires students to purchase a Southeast Tech laptop from the Southeast Tech IT Support Center.
