SOC 101 - Sociology of Mental Health 3 Credit Hours This course will look at the social causes, as well as consequences of mental health and illness. Throughout this course, sociological theories of mental disorders and methods will be examined. Social conditions that can contribute to mental disorders will be discussed and examined. Challenges and disadvantages surrounding the label of having a mental disorder will be explored in addition to discussing which populations are most affected both by labels and by mental health disorders.
