Johnnie has been teaching at Southeast tech since 2013. He has over 12 years teaching experience in the technical education field.
Johnnie has over 30 years of industry experience including:
• Tool room lead for Wil-Rich Inc.
• Shop Supervisor for Eagle Mats Inc.
• Tool Maker and Designer for Hutchinson Technology
• Shop Supervisor for Midwest Tool and Die
• Shop Supervisor for Lou-Rich Inc.
• Trade Secret Award for unique process for micro machining carbide.
Johnnie oversees the student chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and sets up meetings with employers and tours of their manufacturing facilities for his students.
He believes that technical education is the best way meet the needs of both students and industry in today’s world market. Technical education is the most efficient way to prepare students for today’s careers. “Getting students into a career that they love and seeing them be successful is the best part of my job”

For thirteen years Lloyd was the Mechanical Engineering Technology instructor retiring in 2013. After a year of retirement he realized he missed teaching more than he realized. He returned as an adjunct math instructor in the fall of 2014 and will now be one of the Mechanical Engineering instructors and is very excited about being here.
Lloyd’s work experience includes working as a journeyman carpenter, millwright, and machinist. Working on projects from residential carpentry to coal fired steam turbine overhauls. Before he started teaching he was the training coordinator in the Toolroom for Hutchinson Technology in Sioux Falls.
He enjoys helping people improve their lives and to see that they have a better future as a result of their education. Lloyd, having the varied background of construction and manufacturing, sees how the technology is the same. The difference is in its application. His teaching philosophy is as a mentor mentee with both bringing much knowledge to the classroom.
Hobbies include motorcycling, hunting/fishing, working out, reading: favorite author: Mark Twain and favorite topics: history and philosophy. He is married to his wife of 43 years, Mary, and has a son, Nathan, a Captain in the U.S. Army.
Education: MBA, University of Sioux Falls; BA, Sioux Falls College; AAS, USD. He also is a Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT) through the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
