AEMT 225S - Advanced EMT Clinical & Field Internship

3 Credit Hours

This course provides supervised clinical and field-based experiences designed to integrate Advanced Emergency Medical Technician knowledge and skills into patient care practice. Students apply advanced assessment, clinical decision-making, and AEMT-level interventions in a variety of healthcare and prehospital environments. Emphasis is placed on patient evaluation, treatment planning, communication, professional behavior, and safe performance of advanced procedures within the AEMT scope of practice. Clinical and field experiences allow students to demonstrate competency in the management of medical and trauma patients across the lifespan while functioning under the guidance of approved clinical and field preceptors.
