Cardiac Sonography, AAS

It is the goal of the Southeast Tech Cardiac Sonography program to prepare competent entry-level Cardiac Sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Cardiac Sonography, a student will be able to:

Technical Skills

• Demonstrate an understanding of the physic principles that apply to sonography. 

Problem Solving / Critical Thinking

• Recognize pathology and related physiology to acquire images and information for diagnostic interpretation.
• Distill cardiac ultrasound measurements and parameters. 

Professionalism

• Promotes the privacy, dignity and comfort of patient and family members in the clinical realm. 
• Maintains professional composure in all situations and protects the confidentiality of acquired patient information.

Communication

• Competently communicates and interacts with all health care staff and patients in a manor expected by a health professional.
