Architectural Engineering Technology, AAS


Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Architectural Engineering Technology, a student will be able to:

Technical Skills

  • Interpret construction documents.
  • Differentiate the materials, construction techniques, and systems used in residential and commercial buildings as well as their cost impact on a project.
  • Utilize Computer Assisted Design (CAD) to develop the components of construction plans including plan views, elevations, building sections, site plans and detail drawings.

Problem Solving/Critical Thinking

  • Recognize relationships between architectural designs, structural elements, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and how various designs affect the building systems comprehensively.
  • Analyze, interpret and calculate solutions for industry applied mathematical problems.
  • Interpret and apply building code regulations to residential and commercial construction designs.

Professionalism

  • Interact and collaborate with stakeholders in the construction process in a professional manner.

Communication

  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner with stakeholders in the construction process through electronic correspondence, personal interaction, and construction documents.
