Electricians are responsible for installing and maintaining electrical systems for residential, farmstead and commercial operations. They install and maintain the wiring, fuses, and the other mechanisms that electricity flows through. In new construction, electricians read blueprints to properly locate outlets, circuits, panel boards, load centers and other electrical equipment.
Upon completion of the Electrician program, Southeast Tech graduates receive 2,000 hours toward certification and will be placed in the third year of the electrician’s apprenticeship program.
Electricians can work for contractors, retail, wholesale, and repair companies. It’s a great field to start your own business!
TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS: This degree is a Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) program. You may purchase a laptop on your own or from the Southeast Tech IT Support Center.
