System Administrators are skilled Information Technology professionals who are responsible for adding users to company computer systems, establishing and editing user rights, and working with networking applications. They install, test, service and administer numerous systems such as Linux, Novell, Windows Operating Systems, email applications, web server applications and client/server applications.
System Administrators must have excellent technical knowledge and problem solving skills. The administrator may be on call when a computer system goes down or malfunctions, and must be able to quickly and correctly diagnose what is wrong with the system and to identify the best method to fix it.
