ME 232 - Solid Mechanics and Finite Element Analysis 4 Credit Hours This course covers the fundamental evaluation of stress, strain, deflection and failure in solid materials. Axial, shear and torsional loading conditions will be considered to determine stress and strain at a point, failure and structural deflection. The approach will rely heavily on design software and numerical evaluation. Finite element evaluation will be trained in unison with solid mechanics allowing the evaluation of complex structures
Prerequisites: CET 213 , ME 122 , ME 224
