CVS 140L - Vascular Sonography Lab III

2 Credit Hours

In this course, students will build upon their knowledge of the knobology of the ultrasound machines and Ultrasound Physics principles to perform sonographic examinations of the Abdominal Vasculature and the Upper Extremity. Students will learn how to utilize the Abdominal Curvilinear Ultrasound probe to obtain and optimize images of the Aorta, Common Iliac Arteries, IVC, Celiac Trunk, Superior Mesenteric Artery, and the Renal Arteries using 2D, Color Doppler, and Spectral Doppler. Students will learn and perform the various abdominal vascular protocols and begin analyzing the results using knowledge from the corequisite course Vascular Sonography III Lecture. The students will perform Upper Extremity Arterial Examinations with the Linear probe using knowledge of the peripheral arterial anatomy.
