NURS 231 - Advanced Medical/Surgical Nursing

3 Credit Hours
Advanced Medical/Surgical Nursing expands on previous knowledge to enhance the management of complex, high-acuity patients and groups of patients across the lifespan. Building on previous coursework, this course emphasizes the application of advanced clinical reasoning and high-level critical thinking. Students will integrate the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement strategies to develop and implement comprehensive, patient-centered care plans. Through collaborative practice, students will refine their skills in assessing, planning, and evaluating care for individuals and groups with multifaceted, high complexity health needs, ensuring safety, efficacy, and holistic patient outcomes.
