BHT 130 - Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy Principles 3 Credit Hours Students will develop a solid foundation of knowledge and skills for evidence-based cognitive and behavioral approaches to treatment in order to positively improve patient outcomes. Students will learn to differentiate cognition, emotion, and behavior while exploring different types of cognitive therapeutic approaches. Course content will explore ancillary concepts such as mindfulness-based strategies, exposure, acceptance, and motivational interviewing in order to comprehensively support behavioral health patients.
Prerequisites: SSS 100 , PSYC 101 , ENGL 101 or CMST 101 or ENGL 100 , HC 117 , MATH 100 or MATH 101 or MATH 103 or MATH 114 , BHT 110
