Invasive Cardiovascular Technology, AAS


Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology, a student will be able to:

Technical Skill

  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing invasive cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterization, angiography, and hemodynamic monitoring, while adhering to safety protocols, aseptic technique, and best practices in a clinical setting.

Problem Solving and Critical Thinking

  • Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to assess patient data, interpret hemodynamic measurements, and respond appropriately to emergent situations during invasive cardiovascular procedures.

Professionalism

  • Students in the Invasive Cardiovascular Program will exemplify professionalism by adhering to ethical standards, demonstrating respect and empathy towards patients, maintaining a collaborative and responsible attitude within clinical environments, and engaging in effective interprofessional collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Communication

  • Students in the Invasive Cardiovascular Program will demonstrate effective communication skills, including the ability to convey complex clinical information clearly and accurately to colleagues, patients, and interdisciplinary teams within the healthcare setting.
