Upon completion of a Associate of Applied Science Degree in Surgical Technology, a student will be able to:

Technical Skills

• ​Demonstrate the ability to create and maintain a sterile environment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of surgical terminology, procedures, and the surgical technologist’s role in facilitating the safe and efficient operation of the surgical suite.

Problem Solving/Critical Thinking

• Demonstrate foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills in surgical technology by integrating medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical decision making, and procedural preparation to support safe and effective surgical care.

Professionalism 

• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and effective collaboration as an integral member of the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimize outcomes.
