John has 35 + years of professional experience as a licensed architect with most of that time in the design-build project delivery model working in a collaborative team effort with the client and the contractor. This form of alliance management resulted in many building projects to be successfully completed on time and within budget. He has been an integral part of projects in the building sectors of educational, municipal, multi-family, transportation, law enforcement and nuclear power plant construction.

In 2009, John began teaching at Southeast Tech while assisting the architectural department during a time of very heavy teaching load. This opportunity allowed him to discover his desire to teach post-secondary students by drawing upon his many years of experience on construction sites and in the office as a Project Architect and Project Manager. Since that time, he has taught classes in concrete and asphalt design and testing, electrical design, plumbing and heating, 3-D BIM design, and (LEED) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, as an adjunct instructor. His strongest desire is to utilize that experience to teach those interested in the construction trades the most relevant information based on his experiences, so that every student learns the information, processes, up-to-date tools and skillsets that will make each one of them a valuable asset to any worthy employer.
