Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree as an Electrician, a student will be able to:
Science and Technology
- Prevent, identify, or solve problems using various test equipment.
- Choose procedures, tools or equipment to make necessary repairs.
- Comply with safety and health rules/procedures.
- Use and maintain proper tools and equipment.
- Maintain work area.
Problem solving and critical thinking
- Utilize time management skills to complete work as scheduled.
- Locate, understand, and interpret information found in manuals, graphs, and schedules.
- Organize their thoughts and ideas and deliver them verbally in way the customer will understand.
- Recognize a system problem and devise and implement a repair procedure.
- Recognize, organize, and process symbols, pictures, and diagrams that are pertinent to this field.
- Evaluate a service situation and choose the best corrective measure.
Professionalism
- Demonstrate understanding, friendliness, and politeness toward coworkers and customers.
- Present a positive attitude toward the work environment regardless of situation.
- Exert a high level of effort and an honest nature in the work place.
- Show up every day, on time, with a good work attitude.
- Always practice safe work habits.

Communication
- Respond to verbal directions and or messages necessary to perform tasks pertinent to this career.

- Follow Instructions from supervisor.
- Coordinate with other trades.
