Financial Services: Insurance Emphasis (Online), AAS

Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Financial Services: Insurance Emphasis, AAS a student will be able to:

Science & Technology

• Demonstrate knowledge of insurance contracts and provisions, and the features of property-liability insurance, life and health insurance, and employee benefit plans.
• Understand the underwriting and claims process.
• Understand business software, the internet, and computer applications to make financial decisions, spreadsheets, reports, and presentations.

Problem Solving/Critical Thinking

• Recommend appropriate insurance policies to meet individual consumer needs.
• Conduct a needs analysis to determine the appropriate amount on life insurance coverage.

Professionalism

• Understand and maintain ethical behaviors while embracing cultural and societal diversity.
• Collaborate and interact with other team members to support organizational goals.  

Communication

• Create professionally written business documents.
• Demonstrate positive and concise communication skills.
