Computer Support, Certificate


Upon completion of a Certificate in Computer Support, a student will be able to:

Science & Technology
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills and technical proficiency on various computer network operating systems, desktop operating systems, installed software, attached peripherals, and other computer networking equipment.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint.
  • Problem Solving/Critical Thinking
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills on various computer network operating systems and desktop operating systems.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills on various computers, peripherals, and computer networking equipment.
  • Effectively use tools for basic computer construction, troubleshooting and wiring.
  • Effectively install, configure, and operate Windows and computer diagnostic software
  • Understand the OSI model and TCP/IP.
  • Identify the main components of a LAN and WAN and have an applied knowledge of their use and function.
  • Effectively install, configure and operate Network software.
  • Analyze network hardware and software problems and effectively troubleshoot issues.
  • Configure Windows NOS including file access, print services, and remote management.
  • Understand virtual machine settings including storage.
  • Install, configure and understand DNS and DHCP Services.
  • Understand Active Directory, Domain Controller Administration and Group Policy Object.
