Network Support, Certificate


Upon completion of a Certificate in Network Support, a student will be able to:

Science & Technology
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills and technical proficiency on various computer network operating systems, desktop operating systems, installed software, attached peripherals, and other computer networking equipment.
  • Develop experience with network cabling.
Problem Solving/Critical Thinking
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills on various computer network operating systems and desktop operating systems.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills on various computers, peripherals, and computer networking equipment.
  • Determine proper configurations compatibility for computer operating systems.
  • Understand network troubleshooting using the OSI model.
  • Ability to understand IP addressing and subnetting networks.
  • Troubleshoot routing protocols such as RIP and OSPF.
  • Navigate the Cisco IOS file system.
  • Work with ACLs (Access Control Lists).
  • Understand switching VLANs.
  • Explore DHCP, NAT, and STP protocols.
  • Deploy routing and switching devices using Cisco equipment.
  • Deploy secure wireless networks using various manufacturers’ devices.
  • Understand wireless topics such as frequencies, bandwidth, and throughput.
  • Have the ability to perform wireless surveys.
