South Dakota Allied Health Training Consortium – Innovate. Educate. Enhance.
Over the next three years, the South Dakota Allied Health Training Consortium will work together with rural health care facilities and high schools to develop and expand innovative training programs to increase the number of adults earning certificates, degrees, and diplomas.
Beginning in the Fall of 2014, Southeast Technical Institute will offer Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) classes for the Chamberlain area. This 21-month program will prepare professionals to provide direct patient care in a variety of health care settings. Students enrolled in the Chamberlain area cohort will become knowledgeable in giving medications, assisting with activities of daily living, and performing many other duties necessary for patient treatment. Classes for the Chamberlain area cohort will require day time commitments of up to 3 days a week and occasional travel to Sioux Falls for specific clinicals.
Background checks, drug screenings and a CNA are required for this program.
Note: This program requires light travel which may include traveling back and forth to Chamberlain and several weeks to Sioux Falls. Please contact Admissions for details.
