South Dakota Allied Health Training Consortium – Innovate. Educate. Enhance.
Over the next three years, the South Dakota Allied Health Training Consortium will work together with rural health care facilities and high schools to develop and expand innovative training programs to increase the number of adults earning certificates, degrees, and diplomas.
Beginning in the fall of 2014 and again in the fall of 2015, Southeast Technical Institute will offer classes in Health Information Services for the Pierre area. By attending Friday night and Saturday sessions, every other week, this program can be completed in one year (including summers). This program will prepare professionals to manage and coordinate the flow of patient information in a health care setting. Students enrolled in the Pierre area cohort will become knowledgeable with computerized health systems (electronic medical records), scheduling, insurance, billing and coding for reimbursement and medical records management.
If you’ve always wanted to enter the exciting world of healthcare but didn’t want to spend years achieving your dream, the Health Information Services program may be for you.
Background checks and drug screenings are required for this program.
