The Community Health Worker Certificate program at Southeast Technical College provides students the foundation of health knowledge in outreach, community education, informal counseling, social support, and advocacy. The certificate degree program can give you a solid foundation for achieving your professional goals. The Community Health Worker is a frontline public health worker who is a trusted member of the health care team and the community served. The CHW builds individual and community capacity by advocating for patient care.

The Community Health Worker program is an online program, however, CHW 150 is a 2-credit, required hands-on internship component that students may complete in their community.

CHW 110 - Health Promotion and Coaching 2 Credit Hours
CHW 130 - Advocacy, Medical Law, and Ethical Considerations 2 Credit Hours
CHW 140 - Care Coordination and System Navigation 2 Credit Hours
CHW 150 - Internship in Community 2 Credit Hours
