Dental Assisting, Apprenticeship

This 12-month apprenticeship will provide classroom and clinical training to develop the skills of entry-level dental assistants. Emphasis in all phases of training will be put on preparation for expanded function licensure and the nationally recognized DAN-B certification exam. Students must complete 144 hours of combined classroom and clinical training, and 2000 hours of on-the-job experience as required by the Apprenticeship Standards.
Note: This apprenticeship is a Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) program, meaning you can purchase a laptop on your own or from the Southeast Tech Support Center.

Additional Information
Upon successful completion of the Southeast Tech Dental Assistant program and any required certification testing, students will be qualified to perform advanced dental assistant expanded functions and administer x-rays (pending submission of application forms, any registration/licensing fees and approval required by the South Dakota Board of Dentistry). This apprenticeship is not eligible for federal Financial Aid. |
