DEN 100 - Introduction to Dental Assisting

This course will introduce the student to a brief history of the dental assisting profession, professional associations, scope of service in dentistry, and ethical, legal, and professional considerations. The state dental practice act is reviewed.

Prerequisites: Submit proof of a minimum of five hours of observation of a certified dental assistant or a graduate of an ADA- accredited dental assisting program working in a dental practice. The student is responsible for arranging the observation time.
