LPN 104 - Introduction to Medical and Surgical Nursing 5 Credit Hours This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals for Medical-Surgical Nursing. The content is based on nursing diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions. Topics include introductory nursing care, safety in the healthcare setting, personal/environmental health, and developmental stages of the life cycle. In addition, students will also gain knowledge regarding acid-base balance, body defenses, care of the surgical patient, endocrine disorders, hematologic conditions, and effects of aging on the body systems.
Prerequisites: SSS 100 , MATH 100 , ENGL 101 T , PSYC 101 T , HC 106 , HC 117 , HC 118 , HC 118 L
Corequisites: LPN 104 L , LPN 104 S
