Upon completion of the Health Pre-Program Preparatory Coursework, a student will be able to:
Science & Technology
- Understand and apply time, stress and money management skills.
- Understand the functions of the various healthcare professions at STI.
- Understand and solve algebraic problems.
- Understand applied physics and/or chemistry concepts and solve applied physics and/or chemistry problems.
- Understand the fundamental principles of the natural sciences and apply scientific methods of inquiry to investigate the natural world.
- Understand and identify the human anatomy and the various functions associated within it.
- Recognize and use medical terms according to the body system.
Problem Solving/Critical Thinking
- Develop academic skills including note-taking, reading, memory, test-taking, studying, and problem solving.
- Understand and apply individual learning styles in the academic setting.
- Use mathematical concepts to solve real world problems.
- Use applied physics and/or chemistry concepts to solve real world problems.
- Explain and apply the basic elements used to form medical words.
