			 Upon completion of a Certificate in Healthcare Office Specialist: Certified Professional Biller a student will be able to: 
			Technical Skills 
			
				- Understand the basic principles and practices of Healthcare Office Specialist careers.
 
				- Learn and understand terminology associated with a health care setting.
 
				- Know the importance, laws and guidelines of privacy, confidentiality and security of the electronic medical record and patient information utilizing HIPAA guidelines.
 
				- Know the role that electronic and manual financial management plays in a heath care setting.
 
				- Ability to accurately negotiate and troubleshoot an electronic health record using database software.
 
				- Understand basic paper and electronic record filing.
 
				- Comprehend the job responsibilities that are need to work in Healthcare Office Specialist.

				- Exhibit, observe and review various office procedures in a medical setting including scheduling of patients, office management and patient flow.

				- Transcribe authentic medical dictation of varying degrees of complexity.
 
				- Apply knowledge of the four basic medical reports along with specialty reports.
 
				- Implement medical transcription tools to include types of formatted reports.
 
				- Demonstrate the ability to use reference books in medical transcription.
 
				- Familiar with the format of the basic types of medical reports.
 
				- Know the types of medical office notes and correspondence.

				- Complete accurate and concise reports in written documentation.
