Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Specialist, a student will be able to:
Technical Skills

Distinguish developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) for children birth to age 8.

Demonstrate observational skills through direct experiences.

Explain domains of early development and their significance to learning.
Problem Solving/Critical Thinking
- Develop a curriculum framework by highlighting relationship-based modeling through lesson plan development, implementation and environmental considerations for early learners.
Professionalism
- Examine personal and professional characteristics to better serve diverse populations.
Communication
- Define and explain professional standards for the field of early childhood, including the use of advocacy and ethical conduct (National Association for the Education of Young Children - NAEYC).
