Vascular Sonography, AAS

It is the goal of the Southeast Tech Vascular Sonography program to prepare competent entry-level Vascular Sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Vascular Sonography, a student will be able to:

Technical Skills

• Optimize sonographic images using sonographic physics principles, including multi-dimensional imaging and Doppler techniques, in order to
  obtain accurate diagnostic data.
• Safely operate sonographic equipment and implement corrective actions as needed.

Problem Solving / Critical Thinking

• Accurately recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and variant cerebrovascular, peripheral & abdominal arterial and venous anatomy.
• Recognize pathology and correlate related physiology to acquire sonographic images and information for diagnostic interpretation.

Professionalism

• Defend and maintain ethical health care standards related to HIPAA.
• Interact within diverse situations and cultures with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Communication

• Articulate patient data necessary to provide optimal patient assessment, diagnoses, and care.
