Jason has been an Automotive Service Technology instructor since 2000. His teaching career began at Riverland Community college in Albert Lea MN where he taught courses in Brakes, Suspension, Engine repair, Fuel Systems, Basic and Advanced Electronics, General Automotive, Manual Transmissions, Clutches, HVAC, and Drivability.

In 2013 Jason began teaching at Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls SD. Currently, he teaches Electrical/Electronics, Engine Performance, and Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning in the Automotive Technology program.

Jason began his career with a diploma in Auto service Technology from the ND state college of science. He later finished an associate of applied science from NDSCS. After graduation, Jason spent 10 years working in dealerships as an automotive technician, where he specialized in electronics and diagnostics. He is an ASE certified master technician and advanced drivability specialist, and is also certified in Light Duty Diesel. He is a member of the international automotive technician’s network.

As an instructor, Jason has been highly involved at both the institutions, taking part in committees ranging from budgeting to student success. At both colleges, he has been involved with the insttute’s accreditation process, called AQIP. At Riverland, he served on the AQIP leadership team, taking part in the initial accreditation, and was the author of section 2 of the college’s portfolio. At Southeast Tech, Jason serves on the AQIP futures team and the Marketing committee. He is also an advisor the Skills USA student club.

Pat has taught five years in Automotive Technology. Prior to that he spent 25 years in industry as a service technician and a service manager at a local Ford Dealership. He also spent two years owning and operating his own independent automotive repair facility. Hobbies are custom cars and car shows, hunting and fishing.

Terry Prouty

Terry Prouty began working for Southeast Tech in August of 2010. After completing he worked full time for Jay Egge Automatic Service. In 2009 he went back to part-time so he could pursue a career in teaching. Terry is master certified in ASE and holds a post-secondary teaching certificate.

Terry owned and drove a racecar in the late model street stock class. He is also a third generation mechanic, which comes in handy for repairing his race car.
