Cory has over 20 years of turfgrass management experience while working at local golf courses and operating his own lawn care business. During these years Cory has worked as an assistant golf course superintendent at Central Valley Golf Course located in Hartford, SD and as a head golf course superintendent at Prairie Green Golf Course here in Sioux Falls, SD. Prairie Green has been rated in the past by Golf Digest as one of the best new affordable courses. It is currently the highest rated public course in the region.

He has taught at the post-secondary level for approximately 12 years and holds a post-secondary credential from the South Dakota Board of Education. As an instructor Cory teaches such classes at turf management, pest management, irrigation, and equipment operations and maintenance with in the turf, horticulture and landscape design programs. He is also involved with several regional and local organizations such as the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Sports Turf Managers Association, South Dakota Golf Course Superintendents Association and the South Dakota Nursery and Landscape Association.

Cory is also an advisor for the Dakota Turf Club/GCSAA student organization here on campus. Members of this organization have received Thousands of dollars in student scholarships over the years from the previously mentioned industry organizations.

Education: BS, South Dakota State University, PLANET Certified Turfgrass Professional – Cool Season Lawns, Certified Sports Turf Manager – The University of Georgia, and Certified Commercial Chemical Applicator.

Stacy has worked as a Lab Assistant in the Horticulture Division at Southeast Tech for 23 years. In addition, she has owned and operated Dakota Lawn & Landscape Service, providing full-service lawn and landscape services as well as snow removal, since 1983 with her husband Dale.

According to Stacy, “I enjoy seeing our students graduate and put what they learn into their career. I like to stay in touch and keep up with them.”

Her newest green adventure includes working with square foot gardening, which maximizes space in a small area.

Stacy’s hobbies include gardening, camping and spending time at the lake with her husband and two daughters as well as baking.
