Paul Syverson
Paul has been teaching at Southeast Tech since 2002. Paul started his electronics education at Wadena Technical Institute for Basic Electronic Theory and then on to Detroit Lakes Technical Institute to study Biomedical Equipment Technology. He attended the 17th and 18th annual medical electronics seminar in St Louis Park, Minnesota.
Paul then became employed at Mckennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and worked for this company for 15 years as a Biomedical Equipment Technician. During this time he received awards and training opportunities including:
• Datascope system 90 and system 98 intra-aortic balloon pump seminar.
• Kodak processor maintenance seminar.
• Fresenius dialysis system Level one and Level two training.
• Siemens Medical Systems technical training course for Sirecust 1200 monitoring.
• Cobe laboratories AK-10 service training.
• Coherent product maintenance for the model 920 dye photocoagulator.
• Medtronic’s blood management business AC7 and HMS service seminar.
• Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician through the International Certification Commission.
• Attended Belleview University for 18 months for a degree in Hospital Administration.
Paul and his wife Gail have been to Africa for five weeks on a mission trip and four times to Mexico for missions adding another dimension to Paul’s story. He is also the father of three girls and three grandchildren.
