Chris has 25+ years of professional experience as an accounting professional with an impressive track record in Operational Accounting and Financial Management. He has an internal drive to comprehend new ideas and integrate them into desired results utilizing the latest revisions in technology. He is also a proven leader and decision maker as well as a hands-on trainer and motivator.
The servant leadership style of mentoring and developing quality-driven teams, leading to reduce cost and profitable business results, is something he strongly believes in.
Previous to instructing Chris directed the manufacturing accounting group as the Operational Controller for the eight domestic plants at Daktronics for a six year tenure. Exceptional experience taken from Daktronics include extensive exposure to servant leadership. In addition to leadership, Chris is proficient in Lean (Toyota Way) concepts and principles effectively introducing and executing these techniques in manufacturing and finance with highly favorable results. Some examples of lean accomplishments include: 1) Total inventory reduction of 20%, 2) Budget development of rolling budgeting concept, and 3) lead health care cost reduction program lowering liability by $1 million each year going forward.
Prior to Daktronics Chris led the Sara Lee Bakery group for eighteen years as the Midwest Regional Controller. He was fortunate enough to work under an exceptional mentor for the first ten years. During this time, Chris was exposed to multiple bakeries and experiences that molded his understanding of accounting. Notable accomplishments from Sara Lee include beginning his Lean journey in 2002, receiving the Zone of the Year Award in 2005 for all of the US bakeries, and implementing a procurement card system.
Chris’ interests include photography, reading and camping.

Georgina has 15+ years of professional experience that includes general ledger accounting, payroll and benefits accounting, financial statement preparation, financial statement analysis, bank auditing, internal auditing, external auditing, in addition to teaching in post-secondary education.
Georgina earned her MBA from the University of Sioux Falls and her Bachelor’s in Accounting from National American University. She holds a post-secondary credential from the South Dakota Board of Education. Georgina teaches Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Financial Management, Managerial Accounting, Individual Income Tax, Payroll Accounting, and Computerized Accounting in addition to various other business courses. Her teaching deliveries include traditional classroom format, hybrid format and online format.
Georgina’s teaching philosophy inspires her to serve as a guide to students. As students enter their educational journey, she feels it is her responsibility to develop a challenging, engaging, and relevant learning environment to promote their success. At the end of their journey, her students should have gained an appropriate level of competency in the subject matter along with the critical thinking and
problem-solving skills necessary to have the confidence to apply the processes in an employment
environment.

Karen is the Lab Specialist for the Business and CIS APPS classes and also the Keyboarding Instructor. She assists the BUS & CIS full time and adjunct instructors, presenting as a substitute instructor when needed.
Karen works with students in lab classrooms, planning student events within the program, and organizing and managing the Southeast Tech Value Card.
She is an active volunteer in her home town in Iowa.
