Digital Media Production Technology, AAS


Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Digital Media Production Technology, a student will be able to:

Science & Technology

  • Efficiently use various industry software such as: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, Flash and Autodesk Maya.
  • Apply design principles to various layouts/packages.
  • Manage production efficiently.
  • Meet the challenge of multitasking.
  • Track progress and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate fluency and reliability on both Macintosh and Windows platforms.
  • Work with a variety of peripheral hardware, such as printers, scanners, cameras and projectors.

Problem Solving/Critical Thinking

  • Prevent and troubleshoot problems with equipment, hardware and software.
  • Understand computer-related compatibility and use of peripherals.
  • Understand interoperability, cross-platform issues, and preflighting standards.
  • Identify major processes associated with equipment.
  • Prepare, design and develop solutions for varied media, and audiences.
  • Analyze needs of clients to build creative and workable solutions.
  • Choose appropriate tool and/or software application for given need.
  • Formulate and consider various options.
  • Associate, rank, and prioritize steps in a process.
  • Edit and revise written content and related visual elements.
  • Prevent technical problems through advance planning and quality control.
  • Manage personal and project scheduling; predict workflow.
  • Suggest efficient division of project components with colleagues and outsourcers.
